From offices to co-working: Embracing change with Oak House Workspace

Headturner Search are a Worcester based recruitment agency established in 2016 by Sam Turner & Laura Osborne.

Our aim was to really focus our passion and expertise for this industry and ensure it was restoring the true nature of what exceptional value a recruitment partner can be to any business.

The business went from strength to strength very quickly and with that over the years we had multiple offices throughout Worcester City Centre. As with many others, Covid had a significant effect on our business and it made sense to release office space at that time.

The work from home era then began!

In our industry we hear so many varied views about remote working and it really is very much an individual preference; some people really thrive on home working as it allows them the peace and quiet to fulfill their duties quicker and more efficiently, others miss the companionship of others and really crave a more group working environment to sustain motivation.

This is where co-working provided a great solution.

We came across Oak House Workspace and were so intrigued by their unique offering.

Recruitment is a ‘people’ job, it requires so much relationship management, being on the phone is the vast majority of your time and conversing with colleagues over varied projects is key.

We had a number of things that would tick all the boxes for us:

  • Parking
  • Fast Speed Internet
  • Relaxing office environment
  • Great tea and coffee
  • Flexible membership plans

Oak House had it all and here are some reasons why we find the co-working solution at Oak House so beneficial

  • Enhanced productivity in structured environment: Co-working spaces provide a structured work environment that can help you stay focused and separate work from home life.
  • Minimised distractions: Unlike working from home, co-working spaces are designed to minimise distractions and create an atmosphere conducive to productivity.
  • Networking opportunities: Co-working spaces bring together professionals from different fields, fostering networking and collaboration opportunities.
  • Reduced overhead: For freelancers and small businesses, co-working spaces eliminate the need for long-term leases and the costs associated with maintaining a traditional office.
  • High-quality infrastructure: Oak House is  equipped with high-speed internet, office supplies, and state-of-the-art facilities that can enhance your work experience.
  • Additional perks: Oak House also offers amenities like additional meeting rooms and events throughout the year.
  • Community and support: Co-working spaces can provide a sense of community and reduce the isolation often felt by remote workers or freelancers.
  • Supportive environment: Being surrounded by like-minded professionals can provide motivation, inspiration, and support, contributing to your personal and professional growth.
  • Improved work-life balance: Co-working spaces help create a clear boundary between work and home life, which can improve overall work-life balance.
  • Flexible hours: Co-working allows you to choose work hours that suit your lifestyle and personal commitments.
  • Professional image: Meeting clients in a professional, well-maintained environment can enhance your business’s credibility and make a positive impression.
  • Opportunities for collaboration: The diverse community in co-working spaces can lead to interdisciplinary interactions, sparking innovative ideas and potential collaborations.

Oak House workspace can really offer a range of benefits that can enhance productivity, foster networking, and provide flexibility. Whether you’re a freelancer, a remote worker, or a small business owner, Oak House Workspace can provide a supportive and dynamic environment that contributes to both personal and professional success and we are so pleased to be part of the Oak House family.
